Flowers
in My Greenhouse No.30
Pygmaeocereus akersii KK1124
These are the first flowers produced by this plant which is just over twelve years old! Three buds appeared in the centre of the clump which then opened successively on consecutive evenings, fading and dying the following morning in each case. The flowers are typically beautifully scented, filling the greenhouse by the morning with their exquisite perfume. Obtained from a specialist cactus nursery in 1985 as a rooted offset.. Kept very slightly moist in winter at a minimum temperature of 45 - 50 degrees F. (7 -10 degrees C.)
