Compact tap-rooted plant from Mexico, Central America.

Plant raised from seed obtained from a specialist cactus nursery in 1979.

Flowers approx. 2.5cm. long and diameter are produced in early summer and remain open for about four or five days.

Kept very slightly moist in winter at a minimum temperature of 45 - 50 degrees F.

Grown in a clay long tom pot to afford adequate root room. I find watering is tricky early in the season.
