Compact plant from Mexico, Central America with only four ribs instead of the usual five.

Plant obtained from a specialist cactus nursery in 1979 as a small seedling.

Flowers approx. 5.5cm. long, 7cm. diameter are produced in early summer and remain open for three or four days.

Kept slightly moist in winter at a minimum temperature of 45 - 50 degrees F.
