Plant raised from seed obtained from a specialist cactus nursery in 1985.

Flowers 9.5cm. long, 5.5cm. diameter are produced in early summer and remain open for two or three days.

Kept slightly moist in winter at a minimum temperature of 45 - 50 degrees F.
