Small densely spined plants from Chile, South America.

Plant obtained from a specialist cactus nursery in 1978 as a large seedling. Flowers approx. 4.5cm. long, 5cm. diameter are produced in spring and remain open for about three or four days.

Kept slightly moist in winter at a minimum temperature of 45 - 50degrees F.
