Choice compact opuntia from Argentina, South America.

Plant obtained from a specialist nursery in 1983 as a rooted cutting. Flowers approx. 4cm. diameter produced in late summer. I find it to be a shy flowerer, its main attraction being it's compact habit.

Kept slightly moist in winter at a minimum temperature of 40 - 45 degrees F. A cutting of this plant is being grown in a completely unheated greenhouse this year, at temperatures down to 18 degrees F.
